(ض) قَصَفَ يَقْصِفُ قَصْفًاqaṣafa yaqṣifu qaṣfan: to break something. (This verb is not used in the Quran.)
قَاصِفٌqāṣif (active participle, ism fāʿil): that which breaks; then mostly used of the violent storm that breaks trees and buildings. Only once in the Quran: ﴿فَيُرْسِلَ عَلَيْكُمْ قَاصِفًا مِّنَ الرِّيْحِ﴾ (Al-Isrāʾ 17:69)
