خ ش بkh-sh-b
— خَشَبkhashab (generic noun, ism jins; singular, wāḥidah, خَشَبَةkhashabah; pl. خُشُب وَخُشْبkhushub wa-khushb): wood, timber. Only once in the Quran, in a simile for the hypocrites: ﴿كَاَنَّهُمْ خُشُبٌ مُّسَنَّدَةٌ﴾ (Al-Munāfiqūn 63:4) — i.e. as if they were timbers propped up; imposing in stature to look at, yet lifeless and useless.
