— فَوْجfawj pl. أَفْوَاجafwāj: group, company; especially: a group that moves swiftly. The lexicographers say that the original sense is swiftness and spreading out. Five times in the Quran: ﴿وَرَأَيْتَ النَّاسَ يَدْخُلُوْنَ فِيْ دِيْنِ اللّٰهِ أَفْوَاجًا﴾ (An-Naṣr 110:2) and ﴿هٰذَا فَوْجٌ مُّقْتَحِمٌ مَّعَكُمْ﴾ (Ṣād 38:59).
