ع د سʿ-d-s
— عَدَسʿadas (generic noun (ism jins), singular (wāḥidah) عَدَسَةʿadasah): lentils. Only once in the Quran, in the Children of Israel's demand for lesser things in place of مَنّmann and salwā: ﴿مِنْۢ بَقْلِهَا وَقِثَّائِهَا وَفُوْمِهَا وَعَدَسِهَا وَبَصَلِهَا﴾ (Al-Baqarah 2:61).
